District Deputy's Report
January - February 2010
Happy and Blessed New Year. I hope Santa Claus was good to everyone.
The next couple of months are going to be very busy for the Councils in the Distrct.
It will start with the Grand Knights and Deputy Grand Knights attending the State Mid-term
meeting on Saturday January 9th at Cardinal Gibbons Council in Baltimore. The husbands will
be working hard while the wives are enjoying a dinner and the play Oklahoma. The men and women
will attend Mass and banquet later in the day. All of the Grand Knights and Deputy Grand Knights will
be attending this event. Most of the wives will be attending.
As always membership is the life line of all Councils. None of the Councils in the District have met their
STAR Council requirements for the year. The District is in better shape this year than last year but still have work to do.
During January and February the District will hold two first degrees and a second degree. Some recruitment blitz’s
will be held in January.
The Grand Knights, Program Directors, and Financial Secretaries will be busy filing reports that
are due in January. Namely 2nd quarter program reports, council members activity reports etc. and working
on the council audits due in mid February.
On January 15th two of our councils will be having activities that could use you and/or wife support. If you like spaghetti then head to
St. Katharine Drexel. If you rather play basket bingo, then head to Jefferson where Archbishop John Carroll is sponsoring
a Basket Bingo. You may contact the Grand Knights or the District webpage for additional information.
I hope you are as excited as I am looking forward to the next six months, and the State Convention in May.
