District Deputy's ReportBill Kinsella

January - February 2012

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. I am sure that Santa treated you very well.


We have reached the mid-point of the Council year. The first six months went so quickly. The District had two winners in the State Soccer Shootout and one second place finisher who  missed first place by one point. In the State” Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest the District had a third place finisher. Congratulations to the winners as well as participants.


The new  year will start with the State mid-term meeting will on January 7th at Columbus Gardens in Baltimore. It is a day of work for the District Deputies, District Wardens, Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights. The men get to work all day while their wives get to enjoy themselves by attending  a show etc.  We reunite for Mass and a banquet.


The District will hold its own midterm meeting on the 14th of January at Pangborn Council in Hagerstown.  This meeting is for Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights, and Program Directors.


All five councils are up to date with their reports for the year. The second quarter reports are due to me by January 13th. Most of the Councils are participating in (my favorite) the famly of the month. The annual survey of fraternal activities, and special olympics partnership survey are due the 31st.


Brothers, I think you know that every member is part of the membership/recruiting team. This is the one area in which we fell short.  All of the councils need to recruit new members to meet their council goals established by Supreme.


The next third degree in the area will be held February 17 in Walkersville .  We have two first degrees scheduled in the District before then. I am looking for a place to hold a second degree between February 9th and 17th.
