Dear Friends in Christ,

Happy Easter Season!  It’s now DAY 38 since I first wrote on Friday 13 March to announce that we were cancelling all weekend Masses due to crowd limitations imposed by the State of Maryland.  The weekly bulletin is available here to keep you in touch, as a number of our meetings and others activities are moving into the virtual realm.

As I mentioned yesterday, our “one click” weekend virtual worship is now available for use at home.    If you have children in your house and would like to try a Children’s Liturgy of the Word, please use the resources here. In addition, Discussion questions are also available at this link for your own personal reflection, or to share with others at home.  During the weeks of the Easter season (until the Feast of Pentecost), please have a bowl of water at hand for the baptism remembrance as you begin the liturgy.

At this point, over 37,000 American have died from COVID-19, and the number jumps by thousands every day.  That large number seems “out there” until it becomes more personal for each one of us.  That has happened for me– I presided at my first COVID-19 burial service on Friday morning in Hagerstown (someone who died in a nursing home here in the Frederick area.)  We are also aware of at least three parish families who have members who have contacted the virus– none of whom are critical at this point, thank God.  Let us pray for those who continue to be affected by this virus, and please continue to do your part in the struggle not to spread it.  Stay safe!

Sincerely,

Fr. Keith
