Happy Easter! – 12 April 2020

Dear Friends in Christ,

Happy Easter!  It’s now DAY 31 since I first wrote on Friday 13 March to announce that we were cancelling all weekend Masses.  It doesn’t seem right that we won’t be celebrating Easter Mass together, but…

…as I mentioned yesterday, Easter Mass from Saint Katharine Drexel Church will begin streaming on our YouTube channel beginning at 8:30 AM on Easter Sunday morning, and can be accessed anytime thereafter. I invite you (as individuals or as groups of people at home) to be creative in preserving a sacred space in your Easter observance where God’s presence can be experienced, using the time you would have set aside to come to Mass at church.

In a recent article, the psychologist Jelena Kecmanovic, wrote: “Studies have shown that people who go through very difficult life experiences can emerge from it with a stronger sense of psychological resilience, rekindled relationships and a renewed appreciation of life.  Some describe starting to live more fully and purposefully.”  Let’s pray at Easter that this will, indeed, be the result of what the people of the world are now going through together.

The weekly bulletin is available here to keep you in touch.  I pray that your Easter day allows you to experience the hope new life promised to us in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sincerely,

Fr. Keith
