Third Sunday of Easter

Apr 26, 2020

I want to thank so many of you for all the positive response our parish staff has received for the weekend liturgical resources and daily Katharine Konnection outreach we have been providing.  As you have probably noticed, our weekend liturgical resources keep evolving as the restrictions are extended.  In anticipation of it being a longer time before we are back to “normal,” we are upgrading our technology in church to be able to live-stream weekend Masses in a few weeks.  This will no doubt serve our community well in what looks like a staged return to being able to assemble for worship in coming months.

Previous bulletins had indicated that we were trying to re-schedule our June Blood Drive for an earlier date to assist with the current health crisis, but in conversations with the Red Cross headquarters we have learned that they have had to scale back their blood drive operations because of staffing difficulties and current restrictions—and so they prefer that we keep our June date.  As you know, blood is always in demand, and so please consider signing up to donate blood during the coming month.

As you can see in the weekly calendar in this bulletin, more of our meetings, classes, and other activities are taking place through technology (marked “Virtual”) so that parish life can go on.  Please be aware that our next “Prospective Member Session” is coming up in May and will occur via Zoom.  If you are aware of anyone who would like to register as a parishioner, please contact pastoral associate Theresa Anderson through e-mail or the parish office phone.

Nietzsche famously said, “That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.”  And Churchill directed, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”  I can tell that for some people, things are becoming tedious, and that we all yearn for a return to “normalcy.”  Please know that I am praying for you—for perseverance, and for the personal growth that is possible for each one of us.

Fr. Keith
