Dear Friends,

I have a few things to share with you this week…

First, I would like to thank those that joined us last night for our zoom discussion on the film Just Mercy.  It was moving listening to the reflections you shared, and the connections made between issues of racial injustice and our Catholic faith.  We plan to extend the conversation about race and racism in our country with future events, so please stay tuned.

This Saturday at the 5:00 PM Mass, three Catechumens (adults who have never been baptized and want to become Catholic) will be welcomed into the Church through the sacraments of baptism, eucharist, and confirmation.  They have been preparing for a long time and waiting even longer (they would have celebrated these sacraments at the Easter Vigil if we had been able to have Mass).  Please keep Bryan Halterman, Troy Phillips, and Stacey Varga in your prayers this week as they await the opportunity to join us within the Catholic Church, and if you happen to be at the 5:00 PM please give them a warm welcome.

Last, next weekend at 9:00 AM Mass we will be celebrating our Blessing of Expectant Parents.  Due to the concerns about the coronavirus, we will be blessing families both in person if you come to Mass, but also virtually if you do not feel comfortable coming to Mass in person.  If you are expecting the birth or adoption of a child and would like to participate in this blessing during Mass (either in person or virtually), please drop me an email.

Blessings,

Brian
