When I wrote to you on 13 March that we had to cancel weekend Masses because of State COVID-19 regulations, I had absolutely no idea that it would be three months before we would be able to celebrate the Eucharist together again. But that is, in fact, what has happened, as we plan to gather again for Mass next weekend on 13/14 June. We will be re-starting Masses in church on Saturday at 5:00 PM and Sunday at 9:00 AM. There will be no 11:00 AM Mass the first weekend, as we need to determine how long it takes us to adequately sanitize the church between Masses. It will be necessary to reserve the number of seats needed for your household (using Sign-up Genius) so that we can comply with seating limitations imposed by diocesan and government regulations. Everyone will be required to wear a facial covering during Mass, and to keep at least 6’ away from those who are not members of your household. We will continue to live-stream Mass each weekend for those who are not comfortable returning or feeling ill at this time. We are making every effort to make your return to worship in church as safe as possible.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick that was scheduled to be celebrated at all Masses next weekend has been cancelled. Not only do social-distancing requirements make this sacrament a bit challenging, but we decided to have no special events during Masses on our first weekend back in church, to allow everyone time to adjust to the new procedures.
Each month we have a Prospective Member Orientation for those who would like to become registered parishioners. These sessions are now done via Zoom, and the June date has now been changed to Thursday 18 June at 7:00 PM. If you would like to affiliate officially with our faith community, please register following the information in this bulletin.
Please pray for the healing of minds and hearts that is so needed across our country at this time.
