In adding the 11:00 AM Sunday Mass this weekend, we resume our regular schedule of weekend worship. Thanks, once again, to our staff and to the many volunteers whose efforts have enabled us to fulfill all government and Archdiocesan protocols required for us to open our church as safely as possible. Please remember to make a reservation on our website for the particular Mass you will be attending. We all look forward to seeing one another once again!
Weekday Masses resumed last week, and all scheduled times for Eucharistic Exposition will resume this coming week. Please note that the school chapel is not large enough to allow for social-distancing, and so these services will all take place in the church building, where masks are always required for all activities.
Serving at Mass is a great way for young people to be involved in the liturgy and make a contribution to our worship. Altar servers often start serving at the end of fourth grade and we would normally be holding training sessions for new altarservers now in June. Archdiocesan guidelines do not permit the use of altarservers at this time, and so we will look forward to scheduling new altarserver training as soon as we can, hopefully during the coming fall season.
As you probably notice in the mortgage collection report in the bulletin, proceeds from gift card sales help to pay our mortgage each month. Archdiocesan guidelines do not allow us to sell gift cards in the narthex at this time, and so we have developed an alternative process. In this bulletin you will find an insert with the new process described and an order form. This information will also be available on our website. I use these gift cards regularly to buy groceries and gasoline. Thanks so much to all those who are helping to pay the mortgage in this easy way!
This weekend we have the opportunity to say “thank you” to all fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, and foster fathers—and so “Happy Father’s Day”!
