Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sep 20, 2020

When everything shut down in March (with the onset of COVID-19), we cancelled all Masses, meetings and activities and closed the Parish Office according to Archdiocesan directives.  During the following months, parish life has gradually started again, either virtually or in person (with safety precautions.)    We are taking the next step this week by opening the Parish Office from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Monday through Friday).  The office is open at all other times only by appointment.  When coming to the office, please answer the questionnaire posted on the door, and (no surprise here) please wear your mask!

Our parish is participating in the annual 40 Days for Life observance starting this Wednesday.  There are various ways to participate in encouraging a culture of life, starting with simply praying, and so please use the contact information that is included in the bulletin this week to become more involved.

Another Adult Faith Formation opportunity will be starting on-line at the end of this month and will run for eight weeks focusing on the Gospel of Mark (which we will be hearing at Sunday Mass during 2021).  To enrich your experience of weekend worship, sign up for this gospel study by this Wednesday using the information in the bulletin.

As you are well aware, everything is different this year– and the First Communions that were supposed to occur at Mass in April and May have finally occurred in August and September.   We thank the parents for their assistance in preparing their children and for their patience as we adjusted schedules in light of the pandemic.

Thanks again to all the church cleaners for their dedication over several months (until the church was sprayed) in enabling us to come to Mass safely!

Fr. Keith
