Parish Lenten Preparation

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Fat Tuesday!  As you indulge yourself today, just some reminders of ways to feed your soul during the season of Lent.

First, Masses for Ash Wednesday will be tomorrow at 8:30AM and 7:00PM.  Our reservations for the 7:00PM Mass have been filled, but there is still room to RSVP for the morning Mass.  Marking with Ashes this year will be done with Q-tips to avoid direct contact.

Our Friday evening Lenten Prayer experiences WILL be held, though we will not be having our shared meal of soup and bread.  Join us at 7:00 PM each Friday for a new prayer experience to make the most of the season.

This year our parish will be focusing on the Daily Examen as a Lenten prayer practice.  Click the Daily Examen sheet to the right for a description of the Daily Examen and how to do it. The Daily Examen encourages different ways to deepen the experience of it this Lent, including weekly zoom gatherings for us to join with other parishioners to share.

I will also remind you that  virtual Lenten mini-retreat will take place on Saturday February 27 from 10:00AM-1:00PM.  This will be a wonderful chance for reflection with our fellow parishioners at the beginning of Lent, so please add it to your calendar!  The retreat is free, but to help us plan for the number of parishioners who will join us, please RSVP with me.

We also have our virtual Lenten book study on the Seven Last Words of Christ, beginning next Tuesday 23 February (it will run Tuesday evenings at 7:00PM throughout Lent).  If you are interested in participating, (click to the right), RSVP with Anne Marie Cloud at amcloud9@gmail.com, and order your copy of the book so you have it when the study gets started.

Lastly, if you are coming to Mass in person, be sure to pick up the Catholic Relief Services Operation Rice Bowl materials.  If you are joining Mass virtually, you can find the materials here.

Blessings,

Brian
