My fellow parishioners,

I had to share a picture of this beautiful cherry tree that’s outside my office window.

Easter Collection

OK, now that I’ve given you the gift of seeing this beautiful tree, I will throw in a few sentences about finances!  Our Easter Collection in the past has been approximately $20,000, which includes $5,000 in cash put in the offertory basket.  Since COVID restrictions went in place, reducing our attendance, we have experienced a 90% drop in cash offertory donations. Please consider giving a little extra this year to the Easter Collection, if you can.   Your generosity throughout the pandemic has been incredible and I continue to thank God for all of you.

You can give online through Faith Direct directly to the Easter Collection by clicking on this link: https://tinyurl.com/wxp6u4kc

Holy Week Masses – please take note!

Sign-ups for all our Holy Week Masses are full.  If you have signed up and your plans change, please click on this link below to remove your reservation from the Mass so others may sign up.  https://tinyurl.com/yfhkhbph

Although we have expanded the seating capacity into the Narthex, since we are still restricted by the requirement for physical distancing, we have no capacity to accommodate “walk-ins.”  If you have not been able to sign-up, please worship with us by watching the Masses online.  The links to view each Mass are on our website.

For those attending Mass, please follow the direction of our ushers. Remember they are volunteers working to ensure everyone’s safety and maximize the number of persons seated at church while also observing the COVID-related restrictions.  Speaking of which, check out our newly-striped pews!

These markings are two feet apart, so you can verify by leaving three spaces between you and the next family that you are six feet apart.  Please understand that we cannot leave more than six feet between families if we hope to accommodate everyone.

And finally,

Happy KOVID Katharine Konnection Anniversary!

it’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since I sent out my first Katharine Konnection video.

We all know the devastating impacts of the pandemic, most especially the loss of family and friends.

But on a lighter note, I can see from the picture above that I got my new glasses this year.  We’ve seen parish staff retire and new parish staff have joined us.  I’ve found the best places to buy painter’s tape and hand sanitizer. It’s been a blast creating KK videos.

Of more important note, thousands of dollars and food items have been donated by our parishioners to help families in need.  Our parish has been blessed by your generous gifts to the offertory and other collections.    Our mortgage has been paid every month.  The quality of our liturgies, especially the beautiful music provided by our choirs and cantors, brings positive comments from around the country, as people join us online for our live-streamed Masses.   We have much to be grateful for!

A blessed Easter to everyone!
