Parents of children in Catholic Schools will want to take note that the deadline for applying for tuition assistance for the next (2021-22) academic year is 31 March. The parishes in southern Frederick County collaborate through the Frederick County Parish Tuition Assistance Fund, and the monthly collection for Catholic School Education goes directly into this fund. Last year over $175,000 in assistance was awarded based on financial need. A bulletin insert this weekend offers more details.
Please remember in your Lenten prayer one of our catechumens who is prepared to enter the Church at the Easter Vigil through the Initiation Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist: Wayne Rogers. Many thanks to the members of our RCIA team who have nurtured his faith in Christ and deepened his understanding of the church during this past year.
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be one of the few social activities we can actually do this year, as it is outdoors and able to be socially–distanced. Please return the registration form (in our bulletin and on our website) by next weekend if you plan to attend—and make sure everyone age two and over wears a mask!
We have not been able to offer our usual Sunday morning children’s ministries in-person since the pandemic invaded our lives, but our Children’s Liturgy of the Word leaders have been very faithful in providing a video version each week (which is sent out with the Katharine Konnection). Please make use of this valuable resource in order to keep your children in touch with the experience of regular worship (at their own level) as the pandemic restrictions continue.
The Lazarus Project was planned by our Katie’s Ladies group to support those in our area who are leaving prison and starting a new life. They were overwhelmed by your generosity in providing toiletry items and cash donations– and express their gratitude to our parish community on a bulletin insert this week.
