Fourth Sunday of Easter

Apr 25, 2021

This weekend we welcome Fr. Marty Moran to preside at all weekend Masses while I am away.  Fr. Moran is from the diocese of Harrisburg PA, and is currently the University Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministry at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg (a position I left 25 years ago this coming summer.)  He has previously served in campus ministry at Wilson College and Bucknell University.  Earlier in life he ministered in several parishes and high schools in his home diocese.  Even though it is more challenging with all the COVID-19 restrictions, please extend our usual warm SKD welcome to him.

Each year during Lent, all parish households are invited to participate in the Lenten Rice Bowl program, which supports the work and ministry of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) around the world.  This year CRS received a total of $1721.00 from our parish, and we thank the fifty families who observed Lent this year at home by remembering the poor of many nations in a special way at mealtime.

I draw your attention to the fact that our rain gardens are in need of some additional human beings to keep them organized and at their peak of beauty.  These rain gardens are designed to filter the rain water run-off from our church roof and parking lots, and require periodic attention throughout the growing season.  Please consult the contact info that is provided elsewhere in the bulletin. This would be a great family project to spend some time together.

Emerging from the pandemic happens one step at a time, and each step brings us closer to the end.  That is why I am happy to let you know that our parish office now welcomes visitors and callers from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.  Many thanks to our new office volunteers who enable this to happen!

Fr. Keith
