The Katharine Konnection

Children’s Ministries

Dear Parishioners,

Happy (almost) Pentecost!  As we prepare to celebrate the birthday of the Church it feels like new life is coming to our parish as well as restrictions on our worship ease.  To be able to sing together, have space for all of our parishioners and dispense with masks if you are vaccinated if you choose is a blessing!  If you are non-vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask.  These are helpful steps towards a complete return to normal for our parish, and our wider community.

One thing that we are excited to start back up is our children’s ministries; our Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Kate’s Kids, and our nursery.  Children’s Liturgy of the Word with our oldest children, which will come back in June, will be the first to return.  Kate’s Kids and our nursery will follow.  However, these ministries can’t exist without volunteers.  So, if you have volunteered with these ministries in the past and are ready to jump back in, please contact the ministry leaders. If you make use of one of these children’s ministries, please sign up to help.  If everyone who uses these ministries sign ups, your commitment would be once every other month. If you haven’t volunteered with our children’s ministries before and would like to know more about these volunteer opportunities, you can read more about them here and are encouraged to reach out to the ministry leader for the program you are most interested in:

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (K-4th grade): Pat Mayernik

Kate’s Kids (3-5 years old): Theresa Anderson

Nursery (Infants – 3 years old): Ana Maria Alvarado

We are excited to soon be able to offer these ministries to our youngest parishioners again!

Blessings,

Brian
