The Most Holy Trinity

May 30, 2021

As you will see in the bulletin, once again we have surpassed our goal in the Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries!  This is a testimony to our commitment to the wider mission of the church.  It also provides an opportunity for us to share with St. Michael’s Indian School (in Arizona) and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, both of whom were founded by our patron Saint Katharine Drexel—as well as assist our sister parish (St. Hubert) in Haiti. Thanks to all who helped us reach our goal.  We now receive 50% of every dollar over our goal as a rebate, which will be dedicated to our next building project— developing the historic cemetery on our property as a parish Memorial Garden and Columbarium for the interment of ashes.

The pandemic slowed the process of our Memorial Garden design, but our committee has continued their research into those who have been buried there over the last 200 years.  Because our mortgage collection is now sufficient to cover our monthly obligation (thanks so much for your generosity!), Our Finance Committee has also approved dedicating the funds generated by our Gift Card sales and raffle to this next building project.

There was a joy that was so palpable at our Pentecost celebration last weekend, as we were able to fill the church again, and sing, and (for those who are vaccinated) not wear masks!  Next weekend we will have the joy of re-starting our Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the 9:00 AM Mass.  (I must admit—I miss the interaction with the children as they leave Mass for their session.) Expanding to the 11:00 AM Mass and re-starting our other Children’s Ministries depends on the availability of new volunteers, so please respond to the invitations found elsewhere in the bulletin.

Our Haiti Partnership Committee has generated a new opportunity to assist the young people of our partner parish St. Hubert, generating a sense of hope for them.  Please take a look at the special bulletin insert on education in Haiti and please help if you can!
