The Year of the Eucharist

Dear Friends in Christ:

Your journey toward discovering more about Jesus Christ, encountering his presence and finding out why he is so important to all of us, is ever changing and growing. A “Year of the Eucharist” was declared by Archbishop William Lori to help all of us as we move along our path of life, and to offer us concrete ways to connect with the Lord and experience his never-ending light and love.

The “Year of the Eucharist” begins this coming weekend. During this special time, you are invited to make the space that may have developed between you and the Lord much smaller, to enliven your relationship with Him, and to connect with his grace in a way that you may never have experienced before. In this way, hopefully, you can see more clearly that the Lord is always present, with his hands extended, and ready to embrace you.

During this year we will reflect on four ways we experience Christ’s presence during Mass:

· Corpus Christi (6 June 2021): Christ in the Eucharist we receive

· Eve of All Saints’ Day (31 October 2021): Christ in the Assembly

· Word of God Sunday (23 January 2022): Christ in the Word

· Good Shepherd Sunday (8 May 2022): Christ in the Presider
