The Katharine Konnection

Vacation Bible School

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

Last week we held our annual Vacation Bible School for children in the parish. It was another exciting action-packed week where friendships were formed, and the children learned Jesus’ Power pulls them through life’s ups and downs.   Each day began with singing & dancing along with learning a Bible Verse and meeting a “Bible Buddy” to help them remember the Bible Verse.  Each group then rotated to 3 different stations:  Loco Motion Games, Imagination Station (experiments), and Bible Adventures (acting out the Bible Story of the day). Every day concluded with a wrap up with more singing and receiving a keepsake Bible Buddy.

On Thursday, the children met, Nevada, a Therapy Dog and her handler, Officer Rebecca Carrado with Fr. City Police Department.  Meeting Nevada was an exciting “extra” at VBS this year. Officer Carrado and Nevada reinforced the idea that Jesus puts people and resources in our lives to help us.   I appreciate Deacon Jeff Sutterman setting this opportunity up for the children.

There are plenty of pictures and a slide show on the website from the week to view.  Enjoy a video above of the children singing the theme song Your Power Will Pull Us Through. We hope you enjoy it as much as the children did recording it for you.
