A “Blessing of the Backpacks” will take place on the church plaza after the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses next Sunday. As your children prepare for a new school year, start it off right with God’s blessing—and don’t forget to bring your backpacks to Mass next weekend…
Please be aware that there will be a special (next week only) Children’s Liturgy of the Word next Sunday at the 11:00 AM Mass. We are hoping to extend all of our Children’s Ministries to the 11:00 AM Mass on a regular basis as soon as we recruit sufficient volunteers. If you can help in this way, please use the contact information in the bulletin.
Bob and Mary Anne Russo have been parishioners here for several years, and Bob was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer in January 2021. They will soon be moving to Florida, and Mary Ann wrote the following note to our parish: “We thank you for praying healing prayers for us! God is faithful, and after two brain surgeries and months of chemotherapy, God has granted Bob a wonderful period of recovery from the cancer. At this point, there is no sign of cancer in Bob’s body. Your prayers have also protected me from further progression of a serious systemic disease. We are taking this period of better health as a window of opportunity to move to Tallahassee, FL, to live next to our son and his family. We are deeply grateful for the three years we have been in this beautiful, lively, welcoming, prayerful parish“. We offer Bob and Mary Ann our continued prayers and support.
Take note that we will have a wide selection of olive wood carvings available for purchase after all the Masses next weekend to support Christians living in the Holy Land. Plan ahead, as this could be helpful in terms of gift-giving on special occasions for loved one during the coming year.
