For many years we have been offering a “Ministry Fair” each September to acquaint our parishioners with the many ways they can become involved in their faith community. Because of the large number of ministries that function in our parish, it has become very crowded in the narthex during recent Ministry Fairs. This fall we will be having four smaller fairs (organized around themes in our parish Mission Statement), the first of which is next weekend when Liturgical Ministries will be featured. You are welcome to peruse the displays after all Masses.
Our annual Parish Picnic is scheduled for the Sunday after Labor Day (12 September) and is usually a relaxing, late-summer day in Clover Hill Park to ease into the fall routine. You’re asked to sign up in the narthex after Masses over the next three weekends, and to bring a dish that day to share. We almost always have picture-perfect weather!
It has become clear that being vaccinated against Covid-19 prevents hospitalizations and deaths, and the sooner more citizens are vaccinated, the sooner the pandemic will come to an end. Our parish will host a vaccination clinic next Sunday morning from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM in McElroy Hall where both the Pfizer (2-shot) and J & J (1-shot) vaccine will be available. This is a drop-in clinic, with no registration needed, and no charge. Please take advantage of this opportunity if you have not yet been vaccinated.
Our Faith Formation programs are now gearing up to start in September, and our core programs are presented on the front cover of the bulletin this weekend. For planning purposes, we ask you to register your family as soon as possible on our parish website (www.saintdrexel.org). Please note that we are in need of catechists for the Foundations of Faith program that meets on Sunday evenings. If you can serve the young people of our community in this way, please use the contact information in the bulletin
