We generate funds for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party through our Holiday Greenery Sale each year.  We have had very good responses in past years concerning the quality of the greenery, so please use the form available in this bulletin and on our parish website to place your order, which will be delivered just before Thanksgiving. In doing so, you will be helping to honor our volunteers!

October is celebrated nationally as “Respect Life” month.  Pope Francis has regularly stressed that all members of the Church can bring healing to the world by upholding the beauty of human life, as well as by sharing God’s unfailing mercy with others in a variety of ways. Thanks to all those who are participating in the local 40 Days for Life program this year.

As another way of “respecting life,” October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  We will be accepting donations of Gift Cards to support the work of Heartly House here in Frederick throughout the month at the Gift Card table.  (Due to Heartly House pandemic restrictions, we cannot do our usual collection of personal hygiene and household items.)

Our Gift Card program generates a lot of cash (from the vendors–not you!) that is currently being designated for the development of the old cemetery on our property as a Memorial Garden/Columbarium.  If you are planning to use Gift Cards as Christmas presents or stocking stuffers this year, please consider using the order form in the bulletin this weekend to purchase them.  Forms are also available on our parish website.  Orders are due in the Parish Office by Monday 22 November to ensure Christmas delivery.

Next Saturday 9 October at the 5:00 PM Mass Bishop Bruce Lewandowski will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with 28 of our young people who have been preparing through faith formation, service opportunities, and prayer (especially their retreat).    You are invited to celebrate with them!
