30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Oct 24, 2021

We are planning to provide a highly qualified slate of candidates for our Pastoral Council elections next month.  If you have been contacted to run in the election, or if you are offering yourself in service to your parish in this way, please remember to submit your resume and photo to the parish office by this Monday 25 October.  We like to make this background information available to all parishioners on our website and in the narthex for at least two weekends in preparation for voting.

We are celebrating the Archdiocesan “Year of the Eucharist” with four weekend observances (listed on the banner in the narthex) during which parishioners are offering special reflections at Mass.  In addition, there will be Eucharistic Exposition available between the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Masses in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel (behind the altar).  Next weekend will be the next observance, and all are invited!

Our annual “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?”  event on 6 November is a great way to get to know other parishioners, as you journey to host homes and don’t know who the other dinner guests will be. So don’t forget to sign up for this fun evening over the next two weekends after Mass— either to be a guest or a host.  And thanks to Mike and Anna Middeke for coordinating this community-building event.

Next weekend (Saturday and Sunday) we will have our 3rd annual HarvestFest Artisan Craft Fair in McElroy Hall (school building.)  In addition to a large number of quality artisans offering possible holiday gifts for those on your list, there will be a Sweet Shoppe and a Chili Dinner on Saturday evening.  Please come and help to make this relatively new parish event (and fundraiser) a success!

Thanks to all who have supported the work of Heartly House in the area of domestic abuse by donating gifts cards during the month of October.  And don’t forget Autumn Evening Prayer this Thursday.

Fr. Keith
