The Katharine Konnection

Hello friends,

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving Day, and that you have a chance to enjoy the holiday weekend.

I’m writing to let you know that the Frederick County Board of Health met this week and decided to recommend that everyone 2 years and older should wear a face covering in public indoor settings.  Our church is, of course, a public indoor setting.

This recommendation is being made because Frederick County is currently rated as having a “substantial” rate of transmission for the Coronavirus.  When cases lessen, and Frederick County moves to the “moderate” level, then the recommendation would be lifted by the Board of Health.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore asks all parishes to comply with local jurisdictional guidance, and so I ask you to follow this recommendation of the Frederick County Board of Health when you come to Mass.  It’s a way for all of us to stay safe and healthy, and protect those among us who are more vulnerable.

Looking forward to praying with you in church as we enter the Season of Advent.

Sincerely,
