The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated at all the Masses next weekend. We invite parishioners who are seriously ill, anticipating surgery, experiencing the effects of aging, or suffering from illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, alcohol or drug abuse, depression, etc. to come forward after the homily for the laying on of hands and anointing with the oil of the sick.
Voting for our Pastoral Council elections is now underway and will continue until 22 November. The candidates’ resumes and photos are posted on our parish website and in the church narthex . I hope you will review them prayerfully in order to discern our future parish leadership. Paper ballots will be available at all Masses on the weekend of 20/21 November.
HarvestFest is a new fall activity that we hope will develop into a major parish fundraiser. Thanks so much to Sherry Snyder for her untiring leadership in shepherding the development of this event, and to the parishioners who offered the gift of their time last weekend to staff the various venues. We are grateful to all those who came to support HarvestFest 2021!
“Surviving the Holidays” can be difficult when you are affected by grief and the loss of loved ones. If it would be helpful to you (or someone you know), don’t miss grief seminar we are offering this weekend on Sunday at 2:00 PM in the church building.
The pandemic stopped so many of our ministries, especially those with close contact. And so, we are grateful to be able to offer Blood Pressure Screening once again on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the narthex library (next to the restrooms). Thanks so much to our parish nurses for staffing this service to our faith community starting next weekend.
If you are looking for a way to help others, please check the bulletin inserts this weekend for information about our Christmas Basket program and the Yellow Springs Elementary School Caring Cupboard program.
