During all Masses this weekend we are enrolling the children who are preparing to receive First Communion this spring. They are praying and studying at home with their parents, and having several sessions (including a retreat day) here at the parish during their preparation time. Let’s make sure the example of our daily living truly reveals to them the influence of the Eucharist we receive here at Mass.
We are celebrating the Archdiocesan “Year of the Eucharist” with four weekend observances (listed on the banner in the narthex) during which parishioners are offering special reflections at Mass. In addition, there will be Eucharistic Exposition available between the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Masses in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel (behind the altar). Next weekend will be the next observance, and all are invited!
To assist in your tax preparation, by the end of the month we will be sending out statements (or access electronically) to all registered households from which we received recordable income during 2021. If you do not receive your statement (or have any questions), please contact Pat O’Connor (Finance Director) in the parish office and she will be happy to help you.
I always heard that you weren’t supposed to dispose of old batteries in the trash, but I didn’t quite know what to do with them. If you are like me, your parish now has the answer! Our Environmental Team is now collecting used batteries every weekend in a container at the Gift Card table– you are only asked to tape the ends for safety. So start bringing your used batteries to church—and thanks to our Environmental Team for their work on this effort. There is more information on a bulletin insert this weekend.
Our Annual Trivia night has always engendered a lot of good-natured high-spirited competition among the groups that attend. Even the Mayor of Frederick has this event on his social calendar! Get your group of six together and register after Mass in the narthex!
