If you are having a difficult time in your marriage in some way, it is always better to do something sooner than later. Perhaps the pandemic has added stress on you and your spouse. “Retrouvaille” is a weekend program designed to get your relationship back on track, and the next local weekend is coming up soon on 21-23 January. Do yourself a favor and check elsewhere in the bulletin for further information.
Each month we have a second collection which supports the Frederick Co. Parish Tuition Assistance Fund. Members of all parishes that contribute to this fund are eligible to apply for tuition assistance if their children attend an Archdiocesan-approved Catholic School. A distribution committee (with one designated representative from each participating parish) makes the awards based solely on financial need. Last year a total of $180,000 was awarded to qualifying families in our area! An insert in the bulletin this weekend details the application process for those who would like to apply for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year.
Officers were elected at the January meeting of the 2022 Pastoral Council, and so we offer prayerful support and congratulations to: Daniel Kmiecik (President), Rosemary Allender (Vice-President), Karen Roebuck (Recording Secretary), and Tess Samuel (Corresponding Secretary). This important body meets monthly and advises me, as pastor, regarding major parish decisions and future planning. The entire 2022 Pastoral Council is commissioned for service to our parish at the 11:00 AM Sunday Mass this weekend.
The annual March for Life will take place in Washington DC on Friday 21 January, and a free bus is scheduled to leave Frederick that morning. To reserve your seat, use the contact information available in the bulletin this weekend.
Please remember that the completed applications and essays for the Drexel Essay Contest (to win scholarship funds) are due by next Sunday 16 January.
