Children’s Ministries

Children’s Ministries have returned to both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Sunday Masses.  If you have a child between the ages of 3-5 please feel free to sign them into Kate’s Kids during Mass.  The Nursery is also available for children, infant to 3 years old.

“Good Catholics immerse themselves in the political process,’ says Pope Francis. One easy way to do this is to join the Maryland Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN).  CAN is an email network that keeps you updated on current issues and puts you in direct contact with local lawmakers to share your views, especially during the current session of the Maryland General Assembly.  You can find more information on the website of the Maryland Catholic Conference at www.mdcathcon.org/joincan.

Many parishioners have received a solicitation regarding the Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries.  We are part of a larger Church, and the Appeal is one way that we demonstrate our participation in the Archdiocesan and even broader worldwide faith community. If the brochure (or e-mail) is sitting on your desk (or in your inbox), please take a moment to respond with your gift.  The rebate we receive from the Archdiocese helps us support various missions important to Saint Katharine Drexel herself.

The latest surge of the Omicron variant has taken a toll on our parish social activities this winter, with our Epiphany International event, the Team Trivia Night and our new Mardi Gras celebration all being cancelled.  With the positivity rate now falling from this latest surge, we look forward to the possibility of restarting Coffee and Donuts, Holy Spirits, and other opportunities for gathering socially sometime soon.

You may have noticed in the bulletin last weekend that we were able to make three additional monthly mortgage payments due to your generosity.  As surplus funds accumulate in our Mortgage Fund, once a year we make additional payments and recalibrate our schedule.  This saves us money in the form of interest charges over the life of the loan—so thanks so much!

As we celebrate World Marriage Day, it is so inspiring to see the couples (on the bulletin insert) who are married 50 and 55 and 60 years.  Congratulations!
