The Katharine Konnection

Fr. Keith’s Korner

Children’s Ministries

Children’s Ministries have returned to both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Sunday Masses.  If you have a child between the ages of 3-5 please feel free to sign them into Kate’s Kids during Mass.  The Nursery is also available for children, infant to 3 years old.

Fr. Keith’s Korner

Experiencing grief after the death of a loved one can be debilitating.  We have begun  the GriefShare support group at our parish to assist those who are suffering in this way.  There is no need to struggle alone– and sharing the experience with others can lead to healing.  Our next group is starting this week, and more information is in the bulletin.

Our contributions to the Poor Box (along with five other neighboring Catholic parishes) provide the funding for the ministry of our regional conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society (which is located at St. John the Evangelist in downtown Frederick).  Included in the bulletin is a financial report I recently received. The report delineates the use of those funds in assisting the poor in our area, and I want to thank those who share in this ministry through your financial support at the end of Mass or through FaithDirect.

Next weekend we join the national observance of World Marriage Day, and a special blessing of all married couples will occur at each Mass.  Please plan to attend the same Mass with your spouse (either in-person or on-line) to receive this blessing.  If you are celebrating a special 5-year wedding anniversary during 2022, please return the form in the bulletin (or on our website) to the parish office by this Monday.

Each winter we collect items for the Emergency Family Shelter, and so you will find needed items listed on our parish website and on a bulletin insert this weekend.  Donations may be dropped at the Gift Card Table any weekend during the month of February.   With the winter this year being so cold, your caring in this way is very much appreciated.

I want to apologize for the difficulties we have been experiencing at some Masses over the last several weeks with our website live-streaming.  We are aware of the problem, and will be working on a solution so that you can continue to join us for worship online until the danger of the pandemic passes.
