As was explained in the homily last weekend, this Lent we can put our struggles into God’s hands by writing our own “dark moments of the soul” on a slip of paper and placing it in the box at the base of the cross near the holy water fountains.  (An online option is also available on the parish website.) At the end of Lent, these papers will be burned at the Easter Vigil in the new fire that lights the Paschal Candle—symbolically transforming our struggles by the light of Christ’s resurrection.

The Unity Campaign in Frederick each year supports non-profit agencies who assist our most vulnerable neighbors.  One of those non-profits is our own St. Vincent de Paul Society, who can be designated as a recipient of your donation.  Please consider this option when contributing to the Unity Campaign this month.  A bulletin insert this week provides a contribution form for your convenience.

Planning for our new Memorial Garden/Cemetery Columbarium was delayed during the pandemic but is proceeding quickly now.  A report in the bulletin from the cemetery committee indicates that construction is planned for this fall (and includes more details.) Our thanks to the cemetery committee for their hard work!

The Easter flowers that grace our altar area for many weeks in the spring are always a welcome sight after the coldness of winter.   Please use the designated envelope in your packet sometime this month to help us decorate in the joy of the upcoming resurrection season.

The Frederick School of Religion has been in operation for over three decades, offering an adult opportunity to continue learning about religion in an ecumenical atmosphere.  We are blessed to have such a service available in this area, held this year at the nearby Brook Hill United Methodist Church (on Indian Springs  Road). More information (and a registration form) is included in this bulletin and will be available on our parish website.
