The Katharine Konnection:

Praying the Rosary/

Mass seating

Dear Friends,

Pope Francis is asking that all the Catholics of the world to pray the rosary on Friday of this week for the suffering people of Ukraine and for a swift end to the war.  Several opportunities present themselves this week to respond to this request of the Holy Father to pray for Ukraine:

  • You can join in the praying of the rosary on Thursday at either 11:00 AM or 6:30 PM in the school chapel (next to the parish offices);
  • You can join in prayer at the 6:30 AM Mass on Friday;
  • You can join in prayer during the Stations of the Cross at 7:00 PM Friday evening;
  • You can pray the rosary as a family at home sometime on Friday.

We all feel helpless when seeing the destruction and carnage being caused by this war, and so I hope you will join in some kind of prayer this week.

It is a blessing that more people are returning to Mass as we emerge from the latest virus surge, but seating in church becomes challenging because we were used to having lots of social-distancing space around us during the height of the pandemic.  We continue to reserve the right-hand section of pews for those who may be health-compromised, are wearing masks, and wish to stay six feet apart from others.  In the rest of the church, please remember to slide in (especially in the longer pews) so that others can find seating when coming to Mass.  We are also trying to reserve the Drexel Place area (near Kate’s Cafe) for families with infants and young children, so we appreciate your cooperation in doing so.

These are just some simple ways we can extend the love and care of Jesus to those around us.  Thanks for being part of the Saint Katharine Drexel faith community.
