The Katharine Konnection

‘Enlightening Our Hearts’

During Lent this year, we are reflecting on various ways God can always be ‘Enlightening Our Hearts’ and lifting us above the daily struggles we face.  This enlightening happens as we more fully unite ourselves with God’s love.  One of the ways we discover deeper union with the divine is through worship.  And so, this Lent we’re taking a deeper look at Catholic Worship: ‘What We Do and Why We Do It.’ In addition to a weekly bulletin insert, each Friday a link will be offered to a brief YouTube video that can deepen your understanding of both the basic and more esoteric elements of the Mass. Hopefully, by entering more deeply into the liturgical ritual we celebrate, we can also deepen the progression of our union with God.

Please take a moment to watch this video.  This week we look at: The Concluding Rites.

Don’t forget that each Lenten Friday we have a simple Lenten meal of soup and bread (we provide the soup– you provide the bread!) at 6:15 PM in Kate’s Cafe.  Thanks to the Knights of Columbus for providing the soup each week.  This is followed by various forms of Lenten prayer at 7:00 PM in church.  This week’s prayer is the Living Stations of the Cross.

Make sure you are intentional about making Lent a special time of spiritual growth for you and your family.  All are welcome!
