Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Aug 7, 2022

After the death of a loved one, many of us experience the overwhelming pain of grief, often for months or years.  As a means of offering support and encouragement to our parishioners who are suffering in this way, we will be offering again the well-respected program GriefShare on Thursday nights in the Brockway Room starting on 18 August.  This program is a 13-week cycle that you can join at any point, as each session is self-contained.  There are more details in the bulletin and on our website.  Please share this information with someone who may benefit.  You can complete the journey from mourning to joy!

Our next and final “Concert on the Plaza” will take place next Saturday featuring music by “Rewind”.  Food and drink will be available for purchase, so plan to stay after the 5:00 PM Mass for a relaxing evening with your fellow parishioners.

We are trying to include ALL of our parishioners in our next photo directory, and so we have scheduled two final days for photo sessions in August.  This is your last chance to receive a free 8×10 family portrait and free copy of the directory—so sign up for the few remaining appointments on our parish website ASAP.

Our parish has been blessed with a plenitude of volunteers for our Opossumtown Pike “Adopt-a Road” project, and so we have also adopted the section of Christopher’s Crossing from Opossumtown Pike to Walter Martz Road.  New signs will designate our caretaking of the area.  Thanks to our Environmental Stewardship ministry for coordinating this service to the wider community, and for helping us live out the message of Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si”.

Our faith formation programs for next fall are now open for registration on our parish website—so please help us to get organized by registering.  It takes some effort to recruit and train catechists, and books have to be ordered, so we appreciate your cooperation in registering sooner rather than later!

Fr. Keith
