Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Nov 13, 2022

On Friday we celebrated the six-year anniversary of the dedication of our church building.  Due to your generosity in the mortgage collection, we have been able to make our monthly mortgage payment every month—and this month (as you can see in the bulletin) we were able to make an additional payment on the principal!  Thanks so much for your faithful and generous support.

In the bulletin this week you will see an insert with information about education in Haiti.  Our most recent “partner parish” activity is providing secondary school tuition aid to members of St. Hubert parish, and supporting the lunch program at a nearby elementary school.  You can’t imagine how much this gesture of good will means to these children!  Please use the form on the insert and return your check by 15 December to support students for the upcoming spring semester.

Each fall we publish an Annual Report, providing a public accounting of our financial situation and a reflection on the state of our parish.  All registered parishioners receive a copy in the mail at home, and I want to thank our parish corporators Mary Beth Clark and Steve Heine, as well as our Director of Finance Pat O’Connor, for their diligence and dedication in issuing this report each year.  We are also grateful for the design skills of parishioner Brian Zuckerman.

Margaret Moos is coordinating our “Almost Christmas” Pageant again this year, helping children to learn the real “reason for the season”.  You can register your child(ren) to participate after Mass this weekend and next in the narthex, and everyone is invited to the pageant on Sunday 18 December at 7:00 PM.

Advent begins on 26/27 November.  Until then we will have a display of Advent wreathes, candles, books and calendars after all the Masses.  And don’t forget that submissions for the Knights of Columbus  “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest (more information in the bulletin) are due by this Thursday.
