We have not had a “normal” Christmas for the last two years due to the pandemic. Prior to that, though, the 4:00 PM Mass was always our most crowded Mass.  And so, to make it a better worship experience for everyone, please consider attending one of the other four parish Masses that are available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Please note that a regional opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent in preparation for the Feast of Christmas is scheduled for Tuesday 20 December at Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Libertytown.  There will be both an afternoon and an evening session, and all the regional priests will be available for confession.  This will be the last opportunity for confession before Christmas.

In order to pray at home as a family during the holidays– beyond grace before meals– you might think about gathering together at the Christmas manger for a blessing.  We’ve included an insert in the bulletin this weekend to assist you with this prayer at home.

Our Finance Committee always counts on a good Christmas collection to keep our budget balanced– and so, thanks, in advance, for sharing generously with your parish in this special season.  May you experience God’s blessing and Christ’s love as you celebrate with family and friends this year.  Thanks for making our faith community an important part of your life.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month) (October) our faith community collected gift cards in order to personally support the clients at Heartly House, a domestic violence shelter here in Frederick.  We’ve included a thank you letter as an insert this week which demonstrates once again how, when each one of us does our part… a big impact can be made.

I will see you next week as we assemble in joy to celebrate Christ’s birth—and if you are leaving Frederick and travelling for the holidays, I wish you and your family a very “Merry Christmas!”
