Fr. Keith’s Korner – Happy New Year!

If you are having a difficult time in your marriage in some way, it is always better to do something sooner than later.  Perhaps the “holidays” have placed stress on your relationship. “Retrouvaille” is a weekend program designed to get your relationship back on track, and the next local weekend is coming up soon on 26-28 January. Do yourself a favor and check in the parish bulletin for further information.

The annual March for Life will take place in Washington DC on Friday 19 January, and a free bus is scheduled to leave Frederick at 9:30 AM that day.  To reserve your seat, use the contact information available on a bulletin insert this weekend.

Many of you have been so kind in sending greeting cards and bringing goodies to the parish office at Christmastime, many including thoughtful words of appreciation about our parish life and ministry.  Your expressions of gratitude mean so much to me and all the members of our staff.

The Catholic Advocacy Network is an easy way for you to get involved in the work of the Maryland General Assembly during their session over the next three months.  The network sends you e-mail alerts when legislation is pending, and even drafts a suggested response for you (which you can modify to reflect your opinion) to send to your representatives.  You can sign up on-line using the information provided under “Social Justice Ministry” in the parish bulletin.

The Feast of the Epiphany (celebrated next weekend) highlights the world-wide availability of Jesus to people beyond his Jewish roots.  This was the inspiration for our narthex flag display, and that focus continues in our special Epiphany event this year “Dinner Around the World” where we will explore the cuisine, culture and customs of various regions of the world.  Make sure you sign up by this weekend’s deadline to attend on Saturday 6 January.

May God bless our New Year with peace.
