Our Vision
The Parish Partnership provides parishioners of Saint Katharine Drexel in Frederick and Saint Hubert in Ennery, Haiti, an experience of the Universal Church and of service to one another as brothers and sisters in faith. We pray for each other and our parishes.
Our partnership with St. Hubert Parish was initiated by the SKD Pastoral Council in 2014, as part of a broader effort sanctioned within the Archdiocese of Baltimore to establish partnerships with churches in the Diocese of Gonaïves in Haiti. Today, SKD is one of more than twenty parishes within the Archdiocese partnered with parishes in the Diocese of Gonaïves.

Construction Progress
St. Hubert Phase Two Complete
SKD parishioners provided a total of $28,000 for new stairs, railings, and ironwork for doors and windows at St. Hubert. Père Faubert provided photos of the almost-completed work and expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of St. Hubert parishioners.
In addition, members of the SKD Parish Partnership Committee played a key role in the re-establishment of a partnership between Sacred Heart Parish, Detroit, Michigan and St. Hubert Parish — resulting in Sacred Heart funding the addition of a fence between St. Hubert church and the adjacent marketplace.
Financial Report
Fiscal 2025 — Your Generosity at Work
During fiscal 2025, SKD parishioners contributed $39,035 for general assistance to our partner parish and student aid. Here is how those funds were used:
- $14,000 — St. Hubert church renovations
- $8,640 — Six lay ministers’ stipends
- $1,200 — Père Faubert stipend
- $10,000 — Institution Jerome Bellanton lunch program
- $11,232 — Tuition assistance for 32 secondary students
All students succeeded in advancing to the next grade and six students completed their secondary education.
Special Event
Guest Speaker: What’s Going on in Haiti?
All SKD parishioners and surrounding parishes were invited to a presentation on Haiti featuring Dr. Kim Lamberty, Executive Director of the Quixote Center, who has been developing and managing faith-based justice, peace, cross-cultural, and community service programs for over 25 years — including extensive work in Haiti with Catholic Relief Services.
Prayer & Devotion
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Patroness of Haiti
Pope Pius XII placed Haiti under the patronage of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in 1942. SKD held its first ever Special Days of Prayer for Haiti centered around her feast day, June 27th. Next year we hope to expand this effort to a nine-day novena with more opportunities for participation.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help, help us, protect Haiti, protect the church, protect the whole world, protect our homes and bless our children. Amen.

Prayer Breaks Through Where People Cannot
The situation in Haiti is dire. In many areas, gangs influence people’s ability to travel and buy necessities. Père Faubert Charles, pastor of St. Hubert, reminds us that prayer breaks through where people cannot. Please join us in prayer for our Haitian sisters and brothers.
