Inclusion Ministry
A PLACE FOR EVERYONEInspired by the legacy of Saint Katharine Drexel — building a community where every person feels valued, respected, and loved
Our Mission
Every Nation, Every People
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” — Revelation 7:9-10
Our mission is to embrace the rich tapestry of humanity, welcoming all cultures and people from every background. Inspired by the legacy of Saint Katharine Drexel, we are dedicated to creating a spiritual home where every individual feels valued, respected, and loved.
Through faith, service, and education, we strive to build a more inclusive and compassionate community — reflecting the universal love of Christ.
What We Do
Celebrating Our Diversity Together
Throughout the year the Inclusion Ministry organizes events that bring our multicultural parish community together — to share, celebrate, and learn from one another.
An exhibit celebrating the universal expression of Catholic faith through art from diverse cultures.
Celebrating the true meaning of Christmas through nativity scenes representing cultures from across the globe.
An annual dinner celebrating the culinary traditions of our parishioners' home countries.
A community gathering celebrating the diverse cultures and traditions that make SKD home.
Live music and dance celebrating the cultural richness of our parish community.
Watch the bulletin for upcoming Inclusion Ministry events throughout the year.
Our Commitments
Building a More Inclusive Community
These are the ongoing goals that guide the work of our Inclusion Ministry — not a checklist, but a living commitment to the kind of community we are called to be.
Representation
Maintain a diverse committee that reflects the demographics of our community — actively recruiting members from underrepresented groups.
Community Engagement
Organize events and activities that celebrate cultural diversity and encourage participation from all members of our parish community.
Listening & Feedback
Establish channels for marginalized members to share feedback and voice their concerns — ensuring every perspective is heard and addressed.
Awareness
Raise awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion within our community — helping every parishioner understand and embrace the gift of our differences.
Get Involved
Everyone Is Welcome at the Table
The Inclusion Ministry welcomes anyone from the parish who would like to join us. No special background or experience needed — just a heart for building community.
When We Meet
We meet the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month from 10:00–11:00 AM in the Parlor adjacent to the Narthex. Come see what we're working on — new faces are always welcome.
Questions? Let's Talk.
Reach out to Sandrine Orji, our Inclusion Ministry Chair, with any questions about getting involved or upcoming events.
A Growing Family of Ministries
Inclusion Is Just the Beginning
The Inclusion Ministry is envisioned as an umbrella for a growing family of community ministries at Saint Katharine Drexel — each celebrating a different dimension of who we are as a parish.
