About the Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization open to any practicing Catholic man 18 years of age or older. Built on the four pillars of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, the Knights serve their parish, community, and Church through faith-driven action.

Saint Katharine Drexel Council 14011 was founded in March 2006 and has grown to over 150 members. The council is deeply woven into the life of our parish — from sponsoring the Lenten Simple Supper to running Cash Bingo, supporting Harvest Fest, and organizing the annual “Almost Christmas” Pageant. The Knights are also active in broader outreach: the Box of Joy program, the Baby Bottle campaign for Care Net of Frederick, Pro-Life activities, and distributing flowers to mothers on Mother’s Day weekend.

Meetings are open and welcoming — business on the second Monday, a social gathering on the fourth. If you’re a Catholic man looking to deepen your faith and serve alongside other men who take that seriously, the Knights are worth a look. First year dues are free.

Scouts at Saint Katharine Drexel

SKD is proud to charter both a Cub Scout pack and a Scouts USA troop — two programs that have been building character, faith, and community in our parish for over two decades. Staff contact for both programs: Ana Maria Alvarado.

L’Arche Frederick

Saint Katharine Drexel is proud to partner with L’Arche Frederick Maryland — a community of persons with and without intellectual disabilities, where the dignity of every human being is honored and everyone shares faith and friendship.

On one Friday night each month, L'Arche Frederick holds a social gathering sponsored by Saint Katharine Drexel — open to all. Activities include singing, dancing, and crafts designed to bring adults with disabilities together with their friends and families. SKD youth regularly volunteer at these events, building genuine relationships along the way.

Each fall, SKD and L'Arche collaborate on an annual Variety Show — one of the most joyful evenings on the parish calendar. L'Arche Frederick is part of the international federation founded in 1964 by Jean Vanier, whose name means "The Ark" — a place of welcome.

Monthly Friday night gatherings · Annual Variety Show each fall. Check the L'Arche Frederick website for current dates — all events begin at 7:00 PM.
