Social Outreach
Faithful Citizenship
One of our responsibilities as disciples is to bring work towards a world that more closely resembles the Kingdom of God. We do this in many ways, and among the most important is actively participating in the democratic political process. We encourage all of our parishioners to be informed and faithful citizens and voice their values through correspondence with their representatives and through the ballot box. We will share information and issues impacted by our faith that are before our legislators to assist you.
The Maryland Catholic Conference
The Maryland Catholic Conference advocates for the Church’s public policy positions before the Maryland General Assembly and other civil officials. The Conference represents all three dioceses with territory in the state – the Archdiocese of Baltimore, the Archdiocese of Washington, and the Diocese of Wilmington.
Parishioners are encouraged to join the Maryland Catholic Conference’s Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN) for an easy and effective way to contact their elected officials and make their voice heard on the issues that matter. This advocacy network alerts those registered to legislative news and directly connects you with lawmakers
