Inclusion Project
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7: 9-10
ABOUT US – A new home for parishioners with different backgrounds at Saint Katharine Drexel. We are moved by the desire to share our spiritual gifts, we thrive on breaking barriers and building bridges in our community and beyond.
VISION – A parish that is a vibrant melting pot of cultural diversity, with parishioners that share a common goal: attaining spiritual enlightenment by embodying God’s love through service to one another.
MISSION – To build and sustain a vastly diverse and more inclusive God-centered community through fellowship, positive social interactions, community service and most importantly, prayer.
ACTIVITIES
Fellowship and Prayer Meetings: On a rotating schedule, members shall choose a topic that they would like to meditate on and share with the rest of the group. One could also choose to pray the Rosary, the Taize prayer, the Lectio Divina, etc. We shall also have quarterly guest speakers to discuss local social issues. This is to promote spiritual enrichment.
Community Service: Members could pick a slot and serve at the local soup kitchen, visit the elderly in nursing homes, provide assistance to homeless students, or any organization that could use our help.
Community Building: Members meet outside of church to grab coffee and tea. This is to foster healthy and strong relationships. You’re welcome to invite other parishioners to join.
Diversity Outreach: Engage more parishioners with different backgrounds into the different church ministries for example Eucharist Ministry, Ushers, Lectors, Children Liturgy of Word, Info Table, to mention but a few.
